The Sandball| my new favourite piece of training kit, Why?

The sandball is my new favourite piece of exercise gear because

  • Its tougher than a Samoan front 5 (excuse the rugby world cup reference)
  • Its is so versatile and adjustable
  • Its very mobile and ideal to take on holiday
  • Price its just £76.99
The sand ball

The Sandball Tougher than a Samoan front 5!

Once full of sand you can use it as a kettlebell or double grip medicine ball. It’s also an extremely strong sandbag designed to be slammed and thrown.

The shape of the Sand ball is very similar to a double grip medicine ball with a handle on both sides, the handle however is round and large so when using just one handle it is balanced and behaves like a kettlebell.

The Sand ball is also produced by Alpha Strong so it is the strongest sandbag on the market. Alpha strong sandbags are very well put together, they are made of nylon which will wear well and still look good.

The best and thing about the sand bag however is how easy it is to refill, once filled the bag is sealed easily. It has a large mouth to add and remove the sand simply and quickly. This also means its totally adjustable, so for just £76.99 you get a fully adjustable kettlebell, medicine ball and sand bag to train all your clients.

This makes the sandbag ideal for taking on holiday simply rock up to the beach with a super light bag, fill it with sand and off you go. Check out the following video for some beach exercises with the sandball, Also if you want to buy a sandball check out ours below they are a bargain for what you get:

Powerbag Exercises

Powerbags are a great piece of functional training equipment.

By functional I mean the exercise applies loads to us that we will experience day to day in the really world.

Power bags do this precisely, the soft exterior of a powerbag allows you to be far less careful with the weight and literally chuck it from shoulder to shoulder and person to person.

Powerbags exercises

Powerbag squat

Firstly the powerbag Squat is the perfect introduction to weight training for any client. The powerbag fits comfortably on the shoulders and so allows the user to relax. The added weight of the powerbag will engage the Quads and glutes to perform the lifting. Unweighted squats allow poor technique and if the user is recruiting incorrect muscles unweighted exercises can allow these weaker muscles to continue doing the work.

Powerbag BOR

Stand with feet slightly wider than shoulder width, slight bend in knees. Bending at hips forwards keeping back straight. Lower bag with both handles and arms straight. Now as in a standard BOR Pull both arms to chest keeping elbows in.

Power bag Squat and shoulder press

Nice explosive exercises, which is also a very large compound exercise and so uses loads of muscles and energy. This is great for bootcamps or circuit training.

Start with the powerbag on your left shoulder, squat and as you power up with your legs use this momentum to perform a shoulder press and switch the bag to the other shoulder and repeat.

Bootcamp equipment|Get people talking about your bootcamps

The key to success in bootcamps is to get people to talk about your boot camps, Its the opposite of fight club.

Rule 1

“talk about bootcamps”

battle ropespower sled bootcampsPower bags for bootcamps

A great way to get people to talk about your bootcamps is with interesting equipment that they will tell their friends and family about.

Think about it, if your using battle ropes, speed sledges, tornado balls, and also to a slightly lesser extent kettlebells and powerbags. People will be excited about mastering this new equipment and it will give them something to laugh about or boast about with their friends and family.

Battling ropes or battle ropes

Are probabily the most interesting and diverse training equipment you could get to really get people talking.

Check out www.ptgear.co.uk/battling-ropes/

Power sleds or speed sleds

Are the second most interesting and also challenging.

Check out www.ptgear.co.uk/power-sled/

Tornado balls

Are really challenging to master,  and completely random so will encourage people to talk again.

Kettlebells and powerbags are both becoming very popular because people like these. So you can’t go wrong with a diverse trend which is gaining alot of public and media atention.

Remember Rule 1! “talk about bootcamps” oh and rule 2 “don’t talk about fight club”!!!
