Personal trainer insurance
As a personal trainer it is vital wherever you work that you are fully insured. If you are employed, then don’t worry – your club will fully insure you as a personal trainer as it is their responsibility to do so.
If you are a self-employed personal trainer either working at a gym or doing home training, personal training insurance is one of the first things you need to sort out.
Fitness professionals are specialists in personal trainer insurance. Make sure you read their policies and find the cover that best suits what you will be doing.
What should my personal trainer insurance covered me for:
This will cover you for breaches of professional duty as a result of negligent acts, errors or omissions.
So in basic terms this should insure you against any errors you make through being a personal trainer. I.E. any bad advice, poorly chosen exercises, information you fail to give them.
Public liability insurance will cover you for any damage or legal costs arising from third party bodily injury or third party property damage.
It will also cover you for products sold or supplied including refreshments.
Why get personal trainer insurance?
You need personal training insurance, for 2 reasons firstly to insure your self and your personal training business if one of your clients becomes seriously injured.
Secondly and just as importantly to insure your clients are properly covered and insured so they themselves can receive proper medical care and compensation if they do become injured as a result of personal training.
This is offered as advice for Personal Trainers. No responsibility is accepted on our part for any losses or damages. Always use your professional knowledge on if or how to apply this advice to your business.
